I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.
Those words of James Madison, the Father of the U.S. Constitution, ring loudly in my ears as I contemplate the egregiously poor actions Congress has taken in the past 75 years alone to steal from the federal treasury to pay for unconstitutional programs under the guise of benevolence. Government is not a charitable organization; it never was meant to be. In fact, as our first President, George Washington, said so well: Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
As such, when government is used to force people to be charitable rather than to encourage them to be charitable with less regulation and simply getting out of the way of its citizens’ basic good nature, then government is abusive, intrusive, and a fearful master.
Today’s Democratic/Socialist/Communist Party, in their never-ending slide into socialism/communism/fascism, has, since their patron saint, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, been robbing the federal treasury under the guise of being charitable to the most vulnerable by providing birth to death benefits to many who aren’t really vulnerable. They are just lazy and gaming the system -- often generationally. Sadly, many Republicans have been their allies rather than their opponents in those efforts. (I say from birth if, indeed, the Democrats will even allow a person to be born.)
One of the reasons today’s Democrats are so upset with President Trump, in addition to his beating their sacred little Hillary, is that he is Making American Great Again. And he’s doing it, albeit while battling his own party, by deregulating, by encouraging private charitable service, rather than demanding more laws forcing Americans to pay for programs that do not encourage self-sufficiency. The result is the highest number of Americans in history are working; the lowest unemployment numbers for Women, Blacks and for Hispanics, ever.
Of course, the Democrats oppose him. Without government being your Mommy, you are able to take care of yourself rather than rely on federal handouts, which really just enriches the elites in power by buying the votes of the lazy and the self-proclaimed victims of society.
Another great Founder, John Adams, wisely stated: Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
Well, that certainly disqualifies liberals!
